Child & Adolescent Outpatient Programs

Outpatient Programs for Children and Teens

Riveredge Hospital provides child and adolescent outpatient programs that meet the needs of your loved one to work on improving their mental health issues.

Our outpatient mental health services are located in Forest Park, Illinois, and we serve individuals in the surrounding communities, such as Chicago, too.

We provide comprehensive behavioral healthcare treatment for children ages 3 through 12 and adolescents ages 13 through 17 in separate programs. Both adolescent and child outpatient programs aim to strengthen emotional and social functioning while providing the tools to return to healthy daily activities.

Child and Adolescent Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)

Our adolescent and child partial hospitalization program is a therapeutic day treatment program offered to children ages 5 through 12 and adolescents 13 through 17 who are at risk of hospitalization in transition from an inpatient hospital stay, or experiencing functional impairment at home, in school or within the community.

Our teen and children’s psychiatric outpatient program provides a structured environment that also includes daily academic credit. Outpatient programs for children and adolescents are important for your loved one to get the help they need, but school is important to you — and us — too.

Adolescent IOP

Our adolescent intensive outpatient program for mental health is for adolescents ages 13 through 17. Participants benefit from a less intensive and therapeutic after-school program.

Treatment is designed to help those with emotional or behavioral issues whose symptoms may be too acute for traditional therapy but do not require inpatient hospitalization. Adolescent IOP meets year-round:

  • Monday – Friday, 12:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. (Virtual)
  • Monday – Friday, 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. (In-Person)

Mental Health, Children and Teens

Pediatric outpatient psychiatric care and outpatient adolescent mental health care can make a difference.

According to the National Alliance on Mental Health, nearly half of individuals who face a mental illness at some point in their lives showed symptoms before the age of 14. This includes anxiety disorders, mood disorders, depression and other psychiatric issues.

Your loved one’s symptoms now could affect the rest of their lives, and the studies back that up.

Mental health for teens and children is just as important to address as mental health problems in adults. Don’t wait — early action through an adolescent or pediatric outpatient program at Riveredge Hospital can make a difference!

We’re here for you.

Our child and adolescent outpatient mental health services are located in Forest Park, Illinois, and we serve individuals from across the area, including Chicago. Don’t hesitate to reach out for the sake of your loved one, today.
